The Knights Templar, Chancery Lane

Loading map...
The Knights Templar is a Wetherspoons pub in Chancery Lane, near the Law Society. Occupying the old Union Bank Buildings, the interior is very impressive. The pub takes its name from the Knights Templar, the Christian knights who fought the crusades to occupy the Holy Land (Palestine and Israel) in the 11th and 12th centuries.

The Knights Templar established their territory outside Westminster here - and built Temple Church (which features in the Da Vinci Code) for their worship. The area is now the seat of the legal profession in England.
