St Helen's Place, Bishopsgate

Loading map...
St Helen's Place is a gated courtyard just off Bishopsgate, in the heart of the City of London. It was previously known as 'Little St. Helen's' and was the site of the house for the Nun's of St. Helen's.

At the far end of St Helen's Place is the home of The Worshipful Company of Leathersellers - one of the Livery Companies who were originally responsible for regulating trade within their own industry. The two bronze sculptures by Mark Coreth which flank the door to the Company are of the Ram and the Roebuck, key elements in the Company's coat of arms.

Standing in St Helen's Place gives an unusual perspective from which to view the 'Gherkin' (30 St Mary Axe) towering above you.
