Gabriel's Wharf

Loading map...
Virtual tour of Gabriel's Wharf - the pretty market area on the South Bank of the River Thames between Blackfriars Bridge and Waterloo Bridge. Long derelict, a regeneration project adapted the old garages for use as small retail spaces, and since opening in 1988 the local businesses and community have thrived. The opening of the Wharf signalled the start of the regeneration of the South Bank - the area has since become an arts and gastronomy hub in London.

Gabriel's Wharf is close to the Oxo Tower, there are lots of options for eating in some fabulous little restaurants, as well as shopping or window shopping at one of the small independent designers in the Wharf. The small businesses are mostly artisan, each designing and making goods on the premises, from jewellery to ceramics. The atmosphere is artsy, and no-one is in a rush, whatever the weather. It's an ideal place to take the time to explore an unusual little corner of London.
