Bevis Marks

Loading map...
Bevis Marks is a street in the City of London running between Aldgate and Camomile Street, running parallel to Houndsditch (so named for the ditch filled with rubbish and dead dogs that ran along here in the 13th century). The street is famous for being home to the oldest synagogue in Britain - the Bevis Marks Synagogue. The junction with Goring Street offers a dynamic view of 30 St Mary Axe ('the Gherkin').
