The Emirates Stadium - Arsenal Football Club
In July 2006, London got a new football stadium - The Emirates Stadium in Islington became the new home of Arsenal Football Club after they finally waved goodbye to Highbury, where they had played for more than 90 years. The £390m football stadium can accommodate up to 60,000 fans on the 17 acre site. The cannons outside the stadium reflect the cannon of the club's logo, and also act as a counter-terrorism measure preventing vehicles from getting close to the stadium itself.
